Roleplay
Its understandable that you are going to want to roleplay differently to others on the site, therefore I will allow a few certain types of RP.
Using 'I' instead of 'He/ She' Some roleplayers I've come across use 'I walked over...' instead of 'He/ She walked over...' this is perfectly acceptable, although if it complained about I will have to disallow it.
Are you a one liner, two-three paragrapher or advanced RPer? Sorry guys, one liners are not allowed. Your average post should be two paragraphs with roughly five sentences each, if you compress this into one big paragraph with roughly 10 sentences or 3 paragraphs with around 3 sentences per paragraph, that is perfectly acceptable. If there is the odd 3-5 sentance post here and there it doesn't really matter, however if I see this occurring a lot you will recive a warning. For advanced RPers who post more that 2 paragraphs this isnt really going to bother you. This does not apply to OOC
Spelling and Grammar Now I myself am not too good when it comes to spelling and grammar but at least here we have a spell checker. Its not too hard to just spell check a paragraph or two of writing is it? Its just that sometimes its very annoying to read through an excellent piece of writing to find it spoiled by terrible spelling.

Adult Content
A very important rule!
Basically, even though I know a lot of you RP it on other sites, it IS NOT allowed on this forum. Everything must be pg13 complacent! So that means, no sex or sexual references, suicide, Illegal drugs, alcohol, pornography, nudity, hate, "spam," fraud, racism or any other Adult Content. Some will obviously be relaxed such as alcohol, but anything promoting it will be deleted.
Alcohol is allowed but its not to be referred to as 'Alcohol, go steal it from the kitchens and get hammered because its cool'. You can buy it in the form of butterbeer, fire whisky and mulled wine at Cassy's Tea Room, just don't pass out.
Language, adult content etc are acceptable SO LONG AS you rate the thread with an [R], [M] or [X] . This way, younger members are warned to stay away from it. This change does NOT mean that you may go and get pregnant though, it also does not mean that any of your roleplays go too the extreme of extreme. You must converse with an admin over that.Adult content is anything past kissing/snogging. Basically anything you wouldn't do in front of your parents. Keep it PG13!

Hate is a very different rule, so I'll try and explain it properly. Any type of hate/ fighting in your roleplaying posts is allowed; but if it moves to OOC you will receive a warning and if it carrys on you will be banned as sending hate to anyone on this forum in OOC is completely off limits as we want to maintain a friendly community.
Finally NO DRUGS/ DRUG REFERENCES! Its just not needed.

Pregnancy and Marriage
Members under the age of 17 cannot become pregnant, if you are over 16 it is ok, but please make sure you relate back to the rule 'Adult Content'. Also there is to be no marriage under the age of 17, but over that age it is allowed.

Advertising on Hogwarts Realm is banned, this means in signatures and also you cannot advertise through PMs, if I'm told of anyone doing this there will be severe consequences. The only place you can post a link to your board will be the part of your profile which says 'Website' If you would like your site to become a affiliate please fill out the forum in the Affiliates Thread.

Apperation
This one is rather simple; No apperation is to be allowed on Hogwarts Realm grounds. Students cannot apperate anyway and you certainly can't apperate in and out of the school. This means that Ministry workers also cannot apperate because its based in the middle of Hogwarts. Hate to pull a Hermione on you but those charms are still around the school like they were in the books so 'No Apperation' means no apperation!(House Elves are excused from this rule)

Magical Abilities
Magical Abilities are given out to almost everyone as long as they want them, but if you get lots of warning then I'm afraid you will lose your magical ability. You will also lose your magical ability if you use it to attack other witches or wizards without PMing them first and talking it through with them. Basically if you start abusing your ability it will be taken away from you and you will not get it back, and you will also not be able to get another one.

Other Wizards
Its becoming a bit annoying that we have members b*tching about other members. If you don't like someone, either sort it out between you (Via PM so we don't have to be involved too) or keep quiet about it. This is not a board of drama its a site for role playing and having fun!
Also be respective to all staff members no matter how annoying they can be with things like rules (you may of noticed I've relaxed the rules a bit) which I hope you will be happy about. Last time someone said something along the lines of 'Your a idiot' to me - They got banned, but that was a long time ago and now know that I am an idiot, but if you said it too me I'd still ban you.

Spells
Some people are still preforming over age spells. I will relax the rules so that you can do all spells one year above you. But after that its not allowed. Don't go to classes and say 'I can already do that spell, my dad taught me' What would be the point coming to school if your mommy or daddy could teach it you anyway at home? Its pointless. Actually look as if you want to learn something at school.

Welcome to Hogwarts Realm, thank you for taking the time to read the rules.
Please abide by the rules written below, if you do not then warnings will be given.
Warning System:
[One Rule Broken] You will receive a private warning. If you PM Professor Lavender Finnegan, it can be removed after a month or so, but the warning will only be removed if you have not broken any other rules since.
[Two Rules Broken] If two rules are broken (this doesn't have to be at the same time) within the time period of three months, you will be given another private warning. After three months this warning can be removed by Professor Lavender Finnegan but only if you have not broken any other rules since.
[Three Rules Broken] If three rules are broken (again it doesn't have to be at the same time) you will get a warning in your profile on your custom title which everyone can see. These may be taken away by Professor Lavender Finnegan at any time if she decides to do so, you could PM her to ask her or she will just take it straight from your profile. But again this will only happen if you haven't broken any other rules since.
[Four Rules Broken] This time you will get your warning written into your custom title and it will have a set expiry date so it cannot be removed beforehand.
[Five Rules Broken] Depending on all the rules you have broken, your account will either be suspended/ disabled for a few days/ weeks or your account will be banned, in extreme cases you will be permanently banned.
